Gold issues brighten dull, depressed Aust. markets
Gold stocks provided' the only cheer in a market characterised by lack-lustre trading, thin volume, and general lack of investor support, on Australian exchanges yesterday. The bullion price rise lifted; ■Emperor 11c to 190 c and G.M.K. 8c to 135 c. The C.R.A. retreated sharply, while M.I.M. took al heavy cut at 166 c, 9c lower. Utah, B.H. South, and; Western Mining also eased. B.H.P. continued to founder. losing 14c at 588 c. Comalco, Leighton. Aust.! Guarantee. CSR and A.C.L were others to lose ground. Amatil dropped 3c to 152 c and Lend Lease 5c to 170 c. LAC. rose 3c at 65c j Oil issues were ignored. I
