CHECK THE REF!

(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) MUNICH. Among calls to the Munich Olympic stadium in bomb hoaxes for the World Cup final was one from a man who called five minutes before the end of the first half. He said he had planted a bomb beneath the stadium which would explode in five minutes. According to a committee official, the man asked: “Are you sure the referee is the real Jack Taylor, of England?” Told that the referee was Mr Taylor, the caller said: “I don’t believe that a fairminded English referee like Jack Taylor would have awarded Holland their penalty.”
