Three admit robbery
(N Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 8. Three of four men charged with aggravated robbery at the Epuni Post Office in Lower Hutt on May 23 pleaded guilty on arraignment in the Supreme Court at Wellington today. Allan Donaghue. aged 22, a truck driver, Trevor Robert Rarere, 20, a driver, and James Davis Aami Thomas, 19, an unemployed workman, pleaded guilty to a charge that armed with offensive weapons they robbed Theresa Mead of $991. They also pleaded guilty to attempting to rob Isaac Dalziel, an officer of the Commercial Bank of Australia, at Eastbourne, on the same date, while armed with the same weapons. The Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild) granted an application by the Crown to quash a further charge, of conspiring to rob an officer of the Eastbourne Post Office. He remanded the three until Thursday for sentence. A fourth person Dannv Frederick Lee John Woolrich, aged 19, an entertainer, who appeared in Court in women’s clothing, pleaded not guilty to the charges. His Honour adjourned ms trial until tomorrow
