Outstanding win
Canterbury women athletes ran outstandingly to win the inter-provincial cross - country team race at Paraparaumu on Saturday. West Coast-North Island was second. The weather was exceptionally cold, wet and windy. Some of the smaller runners were up to their shoulders in water in parts of the course. Officials said the conditions were the worst they had seen.
