Lake Ellesmere

Lake Ellesmere had dropped by about 2ft at Thursday morning’s gauging after the lake had been opened to the sea on June 24, the Chief Engineer (Mr J | A. Macdonald) told the North Canterbury Catchment Board yesterday. The lake was still open and running well yesterday, he said.
