Panama Canal: new pact soon

The special United States 1 Ambassador, Mr Ellsworth ■Bunker, has said that Washington hoped to negotiate a new treaty on the Panama 'Canal by the end of this year.
.But he added that there ■ was no strict time limit for reaching agreement on the Canal Zone, over which Panama is seeking full sovereignty.
