Consul sought

A warrant has been issued by the Mozambique Government for the arrest of a prominent Beira political figure and businessman, Mr Jorge Jardim, who took refuge in the Malawi Embassy in Lisbon after the April coup in Portugal. Mr Jardim. aged 54, who later went to Madrid, had been Malawi Consul-General in Mozambique since 1964, and is a close friend of President Banda of Malawi and President Kaunda of Zambia. —Lourenco Marques, June 19.
