SHARP LOSSES BY LEADERS ON MORE ACTIVE MARKET
The pessimism of investors in equities was reinforced by the spate of cash issues, high interest rates, and the trend in overseas markets, causing prices to fall on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Turnover remained low, but it was higher than on Tuesday. Finance companies were particularly hard hit, with losses in double-figures, and leading industrials were down sharply.
