CANDIDATES CHOSEN
The Labour Party yesterday selected its candidates for the four seats to be contested in the East ward in the Christchurch City Council elections later this year. They are Mr B. Alderdice, secretary of the Canterbury Shon Employees’ Union and a sitting member: Mr J. F. Davidson, retired, a longserving member of the Drainage Board: Mr J. Power, sec--etarv to the Mavor: and Mr R. J. Todd, an official of the Canterbury Engineers’ Union. The Labour nartv has now selected candidates for the Pegasus. South, and East wards. It wi'l announce candidates for the two remaining i wards, North and West, next week.
