Demand for rabbit local

(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. It was doubtful if an export market for rabbit meat would be established if the farming of domestic rabbits were allowed, said Mr A. W. Begg, the Labour member of Parliament for Awarua, in Napier. He was addressing the annual conference of the North Island Pest Destruction Boards Association. The decision of the Government to consider rabbit farming had attracted hostility from pest destruction boards, said Mr Begg. But there had also been a large number of submissions in favour of this type of farming.
