Dog trial president
Mr C. P. Perry, of Aria. [Taranaki, was elected presi-j dent of the New Zealand Sheep Dog Trial Association at a meeting of the council of 1 the association in Christ-1 church last evening after the annual meeting.
Mr P. Gibbs, of Wakefield, 'Nelson, is the new vicepresident. The foundation president of the association Mr A. G. Stead, of Hastings, was elected patron. Mr Stead, who was president of the association for about 15 years and is a life member, has been taking part in dog trials for 50 years. Mr Perry reported to the annual meeting that the council had unanimously agreed to recognize the services of two outgoing councillors, Mr W. E. Hazlett, of Invercargill, who is the retiring president, and Mr D. A. Anderson, of Kurow, by making them life members. The New Zealand and North Island championship trials next year will be at Eltham in Taranaki and the (South Island championships at Garston in Southland.
