Women’s rights
.Tom Scott, the columnist and cartoonist for the “Listener,” turns to television. He reports for “This Afternoon - ” on the historic Parliamentary hearing into women’s rights, where a select committee is examining all possible areas of discrimination against women.
The hearing is continuing, but “This Afternoon” felt it was appropriate to comment before the committee reaches and announces its conclusions. Tom Scott’s report for “This Afternoon,” on the hearing into women’s rights, will be screened at 2.05 p.m. on Thursday.
School workshop. — A $36,975 contract to build a new engineering workshop at Lincoln High School was awarded to P. W. Withell at a meeting of the school’s board of governors on Thursday night. Work on the work- ! shop, designed by a privately- 1 employed architect, should ■ begin in a few weeks. |
