Daily volume
A total of 172.850 shares was sold on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. 110,600 fewer than on Friday. Industrial issues totalled 162,850 (Friday 279.450) and mining issues 10,000 (Friday! 4000). Some of the most actively traded issues were:— Winstone 16,200 Feltex 10.100 Broadlands .. 9,500 N.Z. Brew. .. 8,500 Dorn. Brew. 8,200 Forest . 6,950 Aust, interest rates Associated Securities, Ltd.! the Australian finance com-1 pany, is offering a special 14' per cent interest rate to! existing investors. The directors say that the higher! rate would be offered on all investments that matured this; year. To qualify, each invest-1 ment would have to be ex--tended for a further two I years from the date of! maturity. The maximum; rate offered on new issues! was set at 13.75 per cent by Development Underwriting. Ltd, but another financier. Lombard Australia, Ltd, is withdrawing its March 11 prospectus and replacing it with another debenture issue which offers higher rates.
