The freighter Straitsman, which sank in the Yarra River on March 23 this year with the loss of two lives, has been refloated. It is shown being towed three miles down-river to the port of Williamstown, near Melbourne, where it will be completely renovated. Holes were cut in the bilge to release 1000 tons of water.
