'A -bomb not part of stockpile’
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 22. Tlte recent atomic explosion in India did not mean his country would now pile up nuclear bombs, said the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of India (Dr G. S. Dhillon) in Auckland, today.
“We just wanted to show :we could do it,” said Dr I Dhillon, who visited New : Zealand on his way home .from Western Samoa where | he attended a meeting of the | council of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Dr Dhillon emphasised that India wanted to keep pace | with other countries in nuclear research. I “A country that lags now {will stand still in the future,” She said. Research was not aggresjsion, he said. India would stand by her commitment to {peace and non-agression. The \ little explosion did not mean that India was piling up | bombs.
