“Horse of the year"

The winner of the title of "Horse of the Year" at Addington Raceway will be decided tomorrow evening at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club's winter meeting.

Sixteen horses have been named as "horse of the meeting" at the 22 meetings run so far this season on the course. Robaian has won the title five times, and Kotare Legend and Hi Foyle twice each.

Seldom has there been unanimity among trotting journalists or members of the sporting staff of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation when they have selected the winners of the award at each meeting and there are certain to be differing opinions when it comes to making the final award for the season.

The winner will receive a trophy donated by the three clubs racing at Addington Raceway.
