Calvary appeal The Calvary Clinic appeal' last Friday raised §4OOO. The money will be used to help pay for furnishing and equipping the clinic’s new hali. $lOOO for pony A pony, passed in at auction at the Kirwee cob, Shack, and pony sale on Monday. has since been sold for I $lOOO. A spokesman for the selling agent, Pyne Gould 'Guinness, Ltd, said that this was a record for the sale. [The pony, a 10-year-old grey mare, standing 13.2 hands, with a good show background. was offered on account of Mrs T. M. Naish, of Ashburton, and purchased byMr R. F. Smith, of Rangiora. Quinney’s Bush gifts
Since January 20, gifts at the Quinney s Bush amusement park and camp site have been $5OO for the Christchurch City Mission j Mount Grey Downs rehabilitation centre, and $5OO for World Vision, to sponsor an orphan child in South Vietnam for several years. The next gifts will be for the Motupiko Anglican parish’s “Outreach" fund and to' complete the second toilet block at Quinney’s Bush.
