E. Manco in junior team
Two Canterbury players, F.. Manco (Christchurch Boys’ High' School! and J. Bosch (Y.M.C.A.), have been included in the 10-■ strong New Zealand junior, under 20) men’s basketball team •o make a short tour of the' South Island next month. Both displayed outstanding form hi the training games during the ' rce-day trials in Christchurch and cemented their places in the team bv playing important roles :i the South Island's victory over the North in Cowles Stadium on Saturday. Mancos selection is a particularly fine achievement consider-: ing that he does not yet play A grade club basketball. His school team plays in the B grade. Bosch, who is 18 and stands! 6ft Bin tall, will be one of the centres in the team. But it does not lack tall players. Its shortest players are both 6ft and it has' an average size of 6ft 4in.
