'Elysee for work’

(NZ.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright)

PARIS, May 21

The wife of France’s Presi-dent-elect, Mrs Anne-Aymone Giscard d’Estaing, has said she does not want to be “locked up” in the Elysee Palace.

“The Elysee will be above all a place to work. Nothing prevents us from living elsewhere. I am counting on continuing to be able to go skiing each year with my husband and my children,” she said.

Mrs Giscard d’Estaing has promised that she will establish a secretariat in the Elysee to deal specifically with the problems of women.
