Big grant for cancer work
Cancer research in Canterbury will benefit by $12,000 from grants made by the Robert McClelland Trust Board.
The trust has distributed about $83,155 since 1955 to finance research into the cause and curse of cancer. Mr McClelland was a farmer at Ellesmere.
Grants were announced yesterday for the following organisations: Cancer Society of New Zealand (Canterburv-Westland diviision), $4OOO, Canterbury i Medical Research Foundation, $4OOO, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Christchurch, $2500, Christchurch Hospitals Post: Graduate Society, $l5OO.
