■ must precede the world championship. . : This will be the sixth time the world series lias been run and it will be the first time it has been run in the Southern : Hemisphere. The first three 1 senes were held in the United i States and Canada and the last two in Europe. On each occasion attendance and turnover records have been broken and the promotion has been an outstanding success. The series is conducted over

20 races, which will mean that there will be four races at each of the five meetings — two in; Australia and three in New Zealand. Eight drivers will contest the; ■ series and these will include the present world champion, J. Marsh, of the United States, plus the] : drivers of the greatest number of winners in the current season; lin Australia. New Zealand, i Canada and the United States, and the first three place-getters in the 1975 European Championi ship. The series will be an expensive i promotion, says a statement from the conference, and substantial sponsorships will be necessary to ensure the financial success of the venture.
