Little Current, which never got room to race in the Kentucky Derby, dashed through along the rail in the stretch at Pimlico to win the $140,000 Preakness Stakes on Saturday in one of the fastest runnings of the race. United Press International reported. With jockey M. Rivera in the saddle. Little Current charged down the rail and close to home he appeared to be hopelessly blocked behind a wall of horses.

But the daring young rider : from Puerto Rico squeezed Little I Current along the rail and once Ihe got through, the colt pulled I away to win by seven lengths. Neapolitan Way finished second in the field of 13 three-year-olds. a length ahead of Cannonade, the Kentucky Derby winner. •
