Dankworth and Lane
"Cleo and John.” a documentary which screens on Monday evening looks at the professional and private lives of the actress-singer. Cleo Lane and the composer-musician-band leader, John Dankworth. The success of their mixed marriage and of their musical partnership is seen at formal concert performances at more informal performances, and in interviews at their luxurious home in Buckinghamshire. They talk about their backgrounds. their open-minded acceptance of a wide range of types of music, snobbery, in music audiences, the concerts and summer camp they run at their home, and their children. Dankworth performs several solos and his band accompanies Cleo on “Rainy Day Man.” ‘‘Feel The Wann," “Tea For Two.” “Perdido.” “It's A Pity To Say Good-’ night.” Yehudi Menuhin also; appears in the programme. .
