Tutor plan approved

A scheme for tutors in technical institutes to return to industry and commerce for refresher training has been approved by the Government. Provision for the scheme will be made in this year’s Budget.
The Minister of Education (Mr Amos) told the annual meeting of the Association of Teachers in Technical Institutes today that he was confident technical institute ■authorities would make their first refresher awards in the next three weeks.
Priority will be given to all trades, technical subjects requiring practical workshop or laboratory experience, industrial design, health services, agriculture, management and marketing, accountancy, computer studies applied art, applied mathematics, and journalism.
