Kerrigan injured

The outstanding young Canterbury three-quarters, E. S. Kerrigan, will not be able to take his place in the provincial side to Challenge West Coast for the Rugby League Cup at the Show Grounds next Saturday. Kerrigan injured a hip muscle while playing for his club, Papanui, against Hornby at Leslie Park on Saturday and required hospital treatment.

The Papanui coach (Mr T. L. Bisman) said yesterday that Kerrigan was not likely to be able to resume football for at least two weeks.
