Quinella is overpaid

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. An overpayment of «$14.40 was made on the quinella on the final race at Forbury Park on Saturday night because field tickets were not included in the dividend calculation. The dividend announced as $63.10 instead of $48.70 was paid out on 66 tickets. The amount overpaid was $950.40. The incorrect dividend was calculated on the basis of 71 winning tickets, but should have been for 92 winning tickets. 21 investors had taken the field with one of the successful horses. Those who have still to collect on their tickets will be paid the correct dividend of $48.70, and the totalisator authorities have; asked people who received $14.40 too much to return the overpayment.
