Mrs O. Morozova, of the Soviet Union, upset the topseeded Mrs B. J. King, 7-6, 6-1, to win the SUSIO,OOO first prize in the SUSSO.OOO Virginia Slims tennis tournament at the Universty of Pennsylvania. “This is my biggest victory," the seventh-seeded Mrs Morozova said. “1 regard 'Billie Jean King as a superstar and to beat her is something great.” In Denver, the American. R. Tanner, won a battle of power serves, beating A. Ashe, of the United States, 6-2, 6-4, for his first SUSIO,OOO singles title on the World Championship of Tennis tour in the final tournament for the green group. Ashe did not win a game in the first set until Tanner I was already ahead 4-0. Tan!ner scored six service aces lin the opening set. In St Louis, S. Smith, of the United States, won the W.C.T. tournament blue group final when he beat A. Metreveli. of the Soviet Union, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
