Injured woman lay out 5 days
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 26. An elderly woman found suffering from extreme exposure last night after lying beside her car for five days and a half, was in a satisfactory condition in Taumarunui Hospital today. Mrs Dorothy Card, aged 65, of Kuratau, near Turangi, was no longer critically ill. Mrs Card, was reported missing by her daughter late on Wednesday night. The police early yester-
day afternoon found Mrs Card’s car, which had left the road on the Waihi hill and plunged down a 20ft and plunged down a 20ft bank. She was lying next to the car. The police believe Mrs Card had been in Tokaanu last Friday night, and was driving home about 8.30 when the accident occurred. Mrs Card lay beside her car during some of the heaviest rain in the central North Island for months.
