Industrial, mining issues lower in Australia
Australian markets dosed trading on a depressed note yesterday. Trading was quiet as, buyers withdrew to await further information on the forthcoming elections. Many mining issues continued their decline. Peko-Wallsend sank 20c to 560 c, Bougainville dropped 9c to 190 c and Western Mining 6c to 168 c. A. and S., C.R.A., Hammersley and B.H. South also slipped lower but North B.H. and Kathleen managed to hold their ground. B. recouped a fraction of its recent losses with a 4c climb to 850 c and Com-i alco was lifted 2c to 265 c. 1
