Jaguar XJ changes

Several changes to the Jaguar XJ6 and Daimler Sovereign ranges have been announced in Britain. All the engines are now fitted with the latest emission equipment, new four-piston brake calipers are fitted to the front wheels, all the disc brakes are now of the ventilated disc pattern, and the six-cylinder cars now have the latest Borg-Warn-er 65 automatic transmission.

The new transmission is said to be much easier to service than the type used before.

The Vl2 cars now have a i r-injection emission equipment, and new camshafts to give reduced valve overlap and thus lower levels of nitric oxide emission.

All models now have an inertia switch designed to cut off power to the fuel pumps in an accident.
