Jensen’s range of luxury cars has been extended by the announcement in Britain of a convertible version of the 7.2-litre VB- - Interceptor model. The hand-built automatictransmission Interceptor convertibles have poweroperated hoods, and the standard equipment includes air - conditioning, radio, Sundym glass, a fire extinguisher, air horns, and electric windows.
The Interceptor saloons are selling well, and demand is exceeding supply. About 5000 of the cars have been sold since the model was announced in 1966. plus about 300 four-wheel-drive FF models. The
FF model was discontinued because of the high cost of meeting proposed American safety regulations. Nearly half the company’s Interceptor production is sold in North America, and almost all initial production of the new convertible will be sent to these markets. The company says it also plans to sell the new model in New Zealand and Australia.
