By the end of 1977, all advertising on railway land adjacent to 50 miles an hour highways would be removed, a letter from the Railways Department informed the National Roads Board yesterday. In the letter, the department’s general manager (Mr T. M. Small) said that the signs would be replaced by attractive display units within the precincts of railway stations and sidings where land was available for the purpose.
