Aucklanders dominate go-kart titles

Auckland drivers again dominated the Rothmans New Zealand kart titles held at the Carr’s Road circuit. But with 45 of the 120 drivers coming from Auckland, their supremacy was not unexpected. Of the 16 titles decided. Auckland won nine. New Plymouth three. Christchurch ■ two, and Hokitika and Palmerston North one each. Apart from a spectacular smash in one of the junior heats, there were few incidents. K. Rowe (Auckland) was ,the outstanding driver. J. Hamilton, in the lOOc.c. stock reed heavy class, and IJ. Grimmett, in the 250c.c. 1 class IV section, were the; (successful Christchurch com-; Ipetitors.
