Gay Rose top Forbury pick

Gay Rose’s third to King’s Row in the Cheviot Cup on March 16 showed that she was close to her peak. She is expected to make a forward showing when she returns to invitation class racing in the Raceway Handicap tomorrow at Forbury Park.

Gay Rose is one of only fobr runners handicapped on the limit, and her placing at Rangiora suggested she would be the pick of this group. Adios Adieu, a double winner on the course earlier in the year, will be a popular

fancy. He was a splendid fourth in the Timaru Cup on February 23 at his latest start.

Noble Lord — a last-start winner in the Timaru Cup, in which Arapaho was the runner-up — Scottish Charm, Bomber Bill, and Manawaru are others expected to show to advantage. The Auckland visitor, I Easton Light, will have to improve very little on his second behind Good Admiral at Alexandra Park on March 16 to win the Dunedin Free-for-all, the second leg of the double. Bachelor Tom, Lessaday. Land Point, Philemon, and Edis Nova should be the pick of his rivals.
