Feltex awards programme

The 1974 Feltex television awards programme, .to be screened this evening, will be screened live from the Hannah Playhouse in Wellington. But it will also have considerable documentary content.

• In our society, the balance of supply and demand is a way of life. Television has plenty of each but to many the supply does not necessarily fulfill the demand. In conjunction with the presentation of the 1974 Feltex awards, a documentary programme will compare the aims of the programme makers with the desires of the viewers, to find out just what differences there, are between the supply and the demand, and to see how these differences might be overcome.

The programme will begin with “Atmosphere Establishment” from the playhouse. It will be followed by the 30min documentary end the programme will end with the live telecast of the presentation of awards.

The presentation host will be Joe Cote and Irvine Yardley will be the documentary reporter.

Mr Pang Tee Pow, permanent Secretary of Singapore’s Ministry of Defence, accompanied by Mrs Pang, will begin a nine-day visit to New Zealand on Sunday.
