Top softballer
The New Zealand representative, C. N. Chee (Papanui), was yesterday named the' Canterbury men’s Softballer of the Year.
Chee won the award far the second time in four years, and became the seventh recipient since the title was first given to G. Griffin in 1967. , His club team won the Canterbury major championship and the champion of champions competitions this season.
He has been a member of the Canterbury team in the last decade, and was picked for the New Zealand side to play a test series against Western United States All Stars this year.
