Top Cabinet men named
(N Z. Press Association > WELLINGTON. Eight Cabinet Ministers are on the Cabinet committee which the Government this week-end described as “the top committee of Cabinet, re-j sponsible for establishing policy and priorities.” The Deputy Prime Minister! (Mr Watt) answering a question asked by Sir Roy Jack (Nat.. Rangitikei), told Parliament today that the members of the committee are: the Prime Minister, Mr Kirk, Mr Watt himself, and the Ministers of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer), Finance (Mr Rowling), Justice (Dr Finlay), Health (Mr Tizard). Agriculture (Mr Moyle) and Overseas Trade (Mr Walding).
This committee has recently been discussing wage stabilisation with unions and employers, and it was announced by Mr Watt this week that the committee is to take over the functions which the National Development Council has held since Julv 1969.
