Programme to combat racism
Sir, —Bishop Pyatt says that regular contributions to the churches are not being used to finance grants by the World Council of Churches, to the Programme to Combat Racism. What is the difference between a regular contribution and any other contribution to a church plate? Are we to believe that the $36,000 paid to terrorist groups over the last few years was given by people who knew that the money was to be used to finance murder? The Archbishop of Canterbury is opposed to financing terrorists, and churchmen themselves have admitted that they do not know how the money will be spent.— Yours, etc., A.C.R.E. March 16, 1974.
