BOYS TOOK GUNS
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON.
The 11 antique guns missing from a Wellington warehouse last week were taken by two schoolboys, aged 10 and seven, the Wellington C. 1.8. said today. The guns, worth $1037, were recovered from the boys and other children on Friday. Two of the guns are badly damaged, but probably can be restored.
Detective Chief Inspector J. F. Stevenson said today that the two boys had admitted taking the firearms from the warehouse. They had entered the building while staff were occupied elsewhere.
The guns, imported by a Hutt Valley dealer, included purse pistols. carbines, muskets and flintlocks.
The children are unlikely Ito be prosecuted because of their age.
