Bravery award

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Constable Michael Hogg has received a special police award for his courage in rescuing a wounded fellow officer at a shooting in Papakura last month. He helped Constable K. Blythe to safety when they came under shotgun fire outside a house in Old Wairoa Road, Papakura, on January 1. Constable Blythe was wounded in the forehead, right shoulder, arm and hand.

Constable Hogg had received a certificate of merit, the highest internal police award, for his bravery, the Commissioner of Police (Sir lAngus Sharp) announced.
