Hotels’ officer

Mr R. W. R. Broom, who has been paymaster at “The Press” for the last 12 years, has been appointed executive officer of the Canterbury Hotel Association. Mr Broom has been assistant manager at the Te Anau Hotel and manager of the Forest Lodge, Tapanui, and Carlton Hotel in Christchurch. He also flew with 8.0.A.C. for 10 years before coming to New Zealand from England.

He will begin his new appointment On April 1. He replaces Mr Stewart Phillips, who is now assistant news editor with Radio Avon.
