Gem firm manager
A woman is managing a new factory that has been opened in Hokitika by the North Westland Greenstone Company to process greenstone and other gemstones.
The greenstone industry is not new to Mrs Diane Howe, she had several years of experience with another com pany. From the planning to the completion of the factory she has also drawn on the experience of Mr J. Staples, of Hokitika, and Mr L Jacobs, of Auckland, both of whom have considerable knowledge of the industry. At first, only greenstone will be marketed, but after experimental work it is pro posed to extend the scope of production. A Chinese lap idary might be employed
