Burnside gains
A former Olympic Games oarsman, J. G. Gibbons, who is 6ft 4in and 16st, is one |of the Burnside Rugby club’s I gains this season. Gibbons has played Rugby as a tight forward for Vic■toria University for several ! seasons, and represented Wellington B. He was in the I New Zealand eight-oared Screw at the Tokyo and 'Mexico City Olympics. Burnside has also gained [the services of D. F. Selby, a former Wanganui and [Hawke’s Bay B half-back. As [well as being a smart attacking player. Selby is also a competent goal-kicker.
G. Stent, a flanker who captained Technical when it won the Wanganui championship last season, has also linked up with Burnside.
