WHISKY ON SALE

New Zealand whisky, which will be on sale today will be available in quart bottles only because of an overwhelming demand. Once the Intial orders have been filled other bottles are expected to become available, said a spokesman for a wine and spirit merchant in Christchurch yesterday.

The retail price of a quart bottle of either of the two brands, Wilsons or 45 South, would be $5.11, said the executive officer of the Canterbury Hotel Association (Mr S. S. Phillips). Other retail prices will be 40oz $7.58, pints, $2.68, and miniatures 44c. A nip in a public bar will cost 20c.
