"Absurd" land objection
An objection by the Institute of Agricultural Science to proposed urban use for the old railwav vard at Lincoln was described as absurd by Cr T F. Carter at a tn- t ting of the Ellesmere County Council. The institute, he said, claimed that the vard was Rood farming land. He had never heard anything so absurd, as the yard was shingle, and had been so for 70 years. Cr Carter said the council was taking legal advice, and had told the Lands and Survey Department of the objection The council would await th“ outcome.
