In addition to the investigation being made by the North Canterbury Electric Power Board into two possible sources of hydro- ■ electric power, a group of consulting engineers has conducted its own investigation into rhe power potential of North Canterbury rivers.

Mr R. W. Morns, chairman of the group, wrote that the group comprised Messrs 1. R. Densem, G. L. Evans, I. R. Pairman, N. S. Sutherland and himself, and they were examining the prospects of getting additional energy, and some of the broader issues relating to energy.

“I discussed this investigation with Mr Morris in November, and thought at first that it was the same one as is being made by the North Canterbury board,’ said the general manager (Mr S. E. Slatter). “This is not so. It is an independent survey.’
