Steady interest rates?
The announcement of virtually steady rates in the Australian Government loan for February gives a strong pointer that there will be little movement in the interest rates offered by finance companies over the next few months as Government loan rates now appear to have reached a peak. There is some uncertainty about the future course of the Government loan rates, but most commentators predict either a steady rate in May, or a reduction. At the moment few, if any, are predicting a rise.
