Forbury has little chance
The attempt by the Forbury Park Trotting Club to win back the 1975 InterDominion championship series seems doomed to failure. The club, a little more than a week ago, wrote to the 47 trotting clubs asking for support in calling for a special meeting of the Trotting Conference, at which it was hoped the decision of the executive to give the Auckland Trotting Club the 1975 series would be rescinded. According to a conference spokesman, about a dozen clubs have sup-
ported the Forbury Park request. Under the Rules of Trotting, 24 clubs have to request a special meeting of the conference, and by yesterday less than half that number had done so. The Forbury Park club, in its letter to the other clubs, asked that they make a decision in time to advise the Inter-Dominion Trotting Council before it meets in Perth today. It is possible that further clubs will support the Forbury Park move, but it is unlikely the required 24 will be reached so that the special meeting can be called.
