FLYING FIFTEENS Third race to Mackys

(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. T. and J. Macky, the 1972 New Zealand Flying Fifteen champions, are well on their way to regaining their title after sailing Waiatua to victory in the third race of the series in Hawke Bay yesterday. The Mackys have won two of the three races and finished second in the other. They lead Capricorn (G. Moor, Christchurch) on the points table. Extremely light, changeable winds continued to dog the fleet of 31, and there was a large swell. In the race yesterday, the Mackys beat home Fforte (D. Colebrook, Auckland) and Pinkie (S. Mason, Auckland). Results:

Waiatua 1. Fforte 2, Pinkie 3, Ragamuffin <P. Pritchett Christchurch) 4. Capricorn 5. Provisional points (placings in the second race are still to be confirmed): Waiatua. 3 points, 1; Capricorn 21.7 2; Fforte. 24, 3.
