Egg export suggestion
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. A suggestion that the Egg Marketing Authority seek markets for surplus eggs in Asian and South American countries short of protein foods will be considered by the annual national conference of registered poultry farmers in Christchurch from March 10 to 15. The remit, from the Centtral North Island Poultry Fanners’ Association, is one of at least 20 from the five provincial association which will be put to the conference which is convened by the Poultry Boafd. A remit from the OtagoSouthland association suggests that the Poultry Board negotiate with the Wheat Board to ensure that adequate supplies of bran and pollard are made available for egg production. As the traditional user of bran and pollard, the industry should receive priority in supply says I the remit.
The Under-Secretary of Agriculture (Mr Barclay) will address the conference, which will be opened by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr N. G. Pickering).
